Book Week activities

Our theme for this year was fantasy. Throughout the whole week children took part in activities with Oaklands and Elizabeth Selby, and celebrated all things book!

Book Door competition

We kicked off book week by decorating the class doors with clues to fantasy book titles. the children then had to go around and guess which book each door was.

Spells and potions workshops at Oaklands 

Year 6 went over to take part in a science workshop with Mr Chu. They mixed some spells and potions and wrote secret messages, which they then tried to reveal with a special solution

   

Story through sound workshop at Oaklands 

Our year 3 classes had a great time exploring story through sound at Oaklands.

Elizabeth Selby visit Phoenix class

The children had a wonderful time reading together and acting out the scenes from the story.

Lawdale Visits Elizabeth Selby for reading sessions

Our year 3 classes had a fantastic morning reading with seedling class.

Oakland visit Lawdale 

Year 7 came over to read with our year 4 classes and also take part in a book bingo activity. The children had great fun hunting for all the different types of books in the library.

Origami workshop at Oaklands

Our children had a wonderful afternoon learning how to make a book using origami.

World Book Day Dress-up assembly

Everyone made fantastic effort in dressing up this year.
