What an incredible week we had celebrating World Book Day and our annual Book Week! Our school was buzzing with excitement as we dove into a variety of learning activities designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading.
A Costume Parade of Characters
To celebrate World Book Day, the school was transformed as children (and staff!) arrived dressed as their favourite book characters. From classic heroes to modern-day protagonists, the creativity on display was wonderful to see.

Sharing the Joy of Stories
Reading is even better when shared, and we were thrilled to host several guest reading sessions:
- Lawdale visited Elizabeth Selby, where they spent a lovely morning reading with the infants.
- We were also joined by pupils from Oaklands, who visited our school to engage in collaborative reading sessions with our pupils. It was heartwarming to see the older and younger students bonding over their favourite stories.
